OVERVIEW

Best 4 scores out of 6 legs will be used to determine the winner.  In the event of combinations finishing on the same points, the higher placing will be awarded according to their result at the final leg.  The same athlete/pony combination must complete at the final leg.

 

League Points

Teams: 1st– 50 points, 2nd – 49 points; 3rd– 48 points …

Individuals: 1st– 100 points, 2nd– 99 points, 3rd– 98 points …

Late Entries 

Late Entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Show Secretary; any late entries will incur an additional fee.

 

THE MEADOWS EQUESTRIAN CENTRE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO AMEND THE SCHEDULE OF CLASSES AS THEY DEEM NECESSARY

 

Rules Of Team Competition

  • Teams must consist of a min. of 3 and max. of 4 combinations representing their primary or secondary school.
  • The same team may not compete in both the 85cm and the 95cms/ 1m team classes.
  • A rider/pony combination may only ride in either the 75cm team, 85cm team or 95cms/1m team competition.
  • The same rider/pony combination may only compete once in a team competition, but a rider may ride a maximum of two horses/ponies in a team.
  •  Any changes to the team detail must be lodged with the Secretary prior to the competition commencing.
  • Schools may combine to enter a mixed team; however mixed teams (with the exception of Primary Teams) will only be eligible for prizes on the day but will not be eligible for league points and prizes at the final. 
  • The 75cms, 80cms, 90cms and 1m team classes will be judged as a special 2 phase, where faults incurred in phase 1 will be added to any faults incurred in phase 2 to give a total faults score.
  • The team’s total score will be based on the best 3 scores.
  • In the event of 2 or more teams finishing on the same score the placings will then be based on the best three scores and times.
  • Each team will be given a time to jump, and all team members will jump consecutively at that time.
  • If a team misses their allocated start time, they may be eliminated from the class.
  • All competitors must wear a skullcap or hat with safety harness according to the current approved standards and body protectors/ Air Jackets are advised.
  • The competition will be judged under SJI rules; however, the judge’s decision is final.
  • Any rider or school representative showing unsporting behaviour MAY be disqualified from the competition.
  • In case of a fall of an Athlete at any time in the Competition arena, in the practice arena or elsewhere within the grounds of the Event, the Athlete must be checked by the Event’s medical service before they are permitted to take part in any other competition.
  • All school/team representative must report to the Show Office on arrival to declare and sign for the team or the team will NOT be allowed to jump.
  • Teams must compete at the final to be eligible for league prizes. The 4 best scores out of the 6 legs will be used to determine the final league placings

 

Team Selectors must ensure competitors are competent at their class height.

THE MEADOWS EQUESTRIAN CENTRE

Rules of Individual competition

  • This competition is open to individual competitors representing their Primary or Secondary School.
  • The same athlete/horse or pony combination can only compete in two adjacent class heights.
  • Competitors may jump in the individual class as well as a team competition.
  • There are no restrictions on the number of competitors from any one school.
  • Primary athletes may not compete in the 75cms class, but may compete 85cms, 1m or 1.10m classes
  • The same pony/rider combination may only jump once in each competition.
  • Primary 50cms & 60cms will be run with an optimum time in the second round, all other classes will be run as two rounds, ‘special two phase’ competition meaning after the first-round competitors will continue to jump the second phase which will be timed. The two rounds will be added together to give a final score. In the event of equality of faults, the best overall score and time of the second round will determine placings.
  • A pony may only jump a maximum of 3 times in any 1 day, over team and individual classes.
  • If an individual misses their allocated start time, they may be eliminated from the class.
